Last week, our Sciflare team, including me, jetted off to the biggest tech event on the planet, named ‘GITEX Global,’ which took place in Dubai. It was a surreal experience, and I’m writing this a little late as it took me some time to process everything that occurred during our stay in Dubai. So, hang on tight as I attempt to capture the entire experience in words. Where should I begin, though? Alright, let me start with my first time experience of flying overseas. I promise that I won’t bore you with this.

1st Flight

Okay, here me out. My first flight was an absolute blast. I felt like a little kid again as I boarded the plane for the very first time. While the captain went through all the safety protocols, I eagerly fastened my seatbelt, sitting upright with my heart racing in anticipation of experiencing zero gravity. Around 9 pm, the plane took off from Chennai Airport's international terminal. As we soared through the night sky, taking in the mesmerizing city lights below, I finally relaxed and allowed the experience to sink in. After a while, dinner was served. They offered us Basmati rice with chicken gravy and a soft drink to satisfy our hunger and quench my thirst. I soon drifted off to sleep, mentally preparing for what awaited me in Dubai and at GITEX.

Dubai First Impressions

The next day, around 4 am, we arrived at Dubai International Airport. GITEX Global 2023 was set to kick off on the same day, leaving us with very little time to prepare for the event and get inside. Since it was the first day, we were determined not to be late. We quickly hopped into a taxi and headed to the hotel we had booked in advance. In no time, we got ourselves ready to attend the event.

Dubai was mesmerizing, and the weather was just as sunny as in India. The roads were pristine, with skyscrapers piercing the sky and supercars dotting the streets as if they were the most common vehicles. The streets were spotless, traffic flowed seamlessly, and everything was impeccably organized and well-maintained. After savoring a delicious breakfast, we headed to GITEX Global 2023. We hopped into a cab bound for the Dubai World Trade Center, and during the ride, I couldn't help but gaze at the beautiful and elegant skyscrapers that were all around us. It was truly a spectacle to behold. Dubai left a very positive impression on me, and we eventually arrived at the Dubai World Trade Center. With our entry passes in hand, we made our way into GITEX Global 2023. Trust me when I say this, I have never seen an event of that magnitude before.

A Day At Gitex Global 2023

GITEX Global 2023 sprawled across a massive 1.3 million square feet of the Dubai World Trade Center, offering an expansive showcase of technology. The event featured multiple sections divided by technology domains, including Cybersecurity, IoT, Cloud Computing, AI, and more. We at Sciflare are experts when it comes to app development and AI based services. Sciflare’s major focus when it comes to technology is to bring innovation into Mobile app development services↗ and to help firms achieve digital transformation↗. At the event, Our AI expertise was on display at Hall 23. Our visit to GITEX 2023 aimed to showcase our expertise and the services we provide such as AI application development, Generative AI modeling, fantasy sports application development, and AI integration into mobile application development.

We at Sciflare wanted to show the other tech giants what we are capable of. And we believe that we pulled it off big time. The event was buzzing with business professionals, tech visionaries, and industry pioneers. It was incredibly exciting to connect with people from various countries and cultures, emphasizing that networking and socializing with new faces never loses its charm. We worked together to make the most of the event. While I sat at the stall greeting visitors, my colleagues made the rounds, distributing pamphlets and brochures, and meeting new people. When they got tired, we switched places, with me taking the brochures and exploring the event.

I personally had the chance to meet over 100 people to whom I had the chance to explain about the innovations we are trying to bring into mobile application development and AI integration in fantasy sports applications. It was a fantastic opportunity for both me and my company to establish numerous connections with other tech giants. Such opportunities are rare, and it would be a missed opportunity not to make the most of them.

Additionally, it was fascinating to witness the work and innovations of others in the field of mobile application development and AI based applications. It underscored the rapid evolution of technology and offered a glimpse into the future with these groundbreaking developments on the horizon. We met numerous potential clients and individuals interested in mobile application development, Fantasy sports application development↗, as well as companies seeking to establish a robust digital presence through websites and mobile applications. Many organizations appreciated our work and expressed interest in collaborating with us, among other opportunities. It was an overwhelming experience for us, and we're delighted to report that we made the most of GITEX Global 2023.

Dubai’s Night Life

GITEX operates from 10 am to 5 pm daily. After each day's event, we decided to explore every nook and corner of Dubai. I had expected Dubai to quiet down during the night, but I was pleasantly surprised. The streets of Dubai remained lively even after 12 am, with numerous street stalls operating 24 hours. Most skyscrapers illuminated the night, creating a mesmerizing sight. Landmarks like Bur Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai's future museum, Al Reef, and others appeared even more beautiful at night. To my astonishment, it was around 1 am, and some beauty salons were still open, with crowds waiting for their turn.

Dubai also offers a vibrant nightlife, with nightclubs and cultural clubs almost on every street. So, if you're a party enthusiast or a night owl with a generous budget, Dubai will exceed your expectations. After 6-7 pm, the Burj Khalifa lights up its 160+ floors and, at the foot of it, hosts a beautiful water dance performance. A jet stream of water dances to the traditional beats of Dubai, creating an unforgettable experience. Dubai boasts a thriving nightlife, and you must hit the streets to witness it.

Surreal Sky Scrappers

Looking back on my days in Dubai, the first thing that floods my memories is the majestic skyscrapers illuminating the night sky and gleaming brilliantly in the daylight. My goodness, this marked my inaugural overseas adventure, and I had never before witnessed skyscrapers on this grandiose scale in my entire life. Every day, as I commuted to and from GITEX, my eyes perpetually wandered the bustling streets of Dubai, where I stood in awe of these towering structures. It was an awakening, reminding me of how far humanity has progressed when it comes to engineering and technology, a truly astonishing experience. Burj-khalifa, The Dubai frame, Burj Al Arab, Almas Tower and Emirates office tower are some of the fascinating skyscrapers I’ve seen in Dubai.

Underwater Aquarium And Zoo Experience

After GITEX concluded, we had an extra day to further explore Dubai. Therefore, we decided to visit Dubai's Underwater Aquarium and Zoo. We purchased our tickets and entered the underwater aquarium. I had been to other Underwater Aquariums before, but this time, it felt massive in terms of its scale and size. There were sharks, jellyfish, and various types of fish floating above our heads, with divers feeding them. The serene ambiance within the aquarium was truly mesmerizing.
My happiness reached its peak when I saw penguins for the first time. I'm almost convinced that they are the cutest creatures on Earth. As we took pictures with the penguins, we then proceeded to the underwater zoo, which took the experience to the next level. From poisonous frogs to the King Croc, from Dubai's nocturnal creatures to lizards, birds, sloths, scorpions, and more, there was a wide variety of animals to see. The visit was not only entertaining but also highly educational, as each animal enclosure provided detailed information about the species.
We were genuinely delighted to have visited the Underwater Aquarium & Zoo, and we will cherish those memories for a long time to come.

Food And Culture Of Dubai

Immersing myself in Dubai's vibrant culture, I savored the exquisite blend of flavors the city had to offer. From succulent shawarmas and kebabs on bustling streets to fine dining in world-class restaurants, Dubai's culinary diversity was a gastronomic adventure. The rich cultural tapestry was equally captivating, with the grandeur of tradition compared against the modernity of the metropolis. The warm embrace of Dubai's culture, a fusion of heritage and innovation, left an indelible mark in my memories.

Moments Of Dubai

Our everyday commute was via the Dubai Metro, and the things we witnessed during our commute will remain etched in our memories for a long time to come. As I keenly observed, we crossed Dubai's future museum, the Dubai Frame, and more. We also noticed that the people of Dubai love to get around using electric scooters and rented bicycles. We came across a rental bicycle company named 'Careem Cycles and Taxis,' and it seems to be an integral part of the daily lives of Dubai's residents. I could be mistaken, though.
And one time, We witnessed a man dancing spontaneously, freestyle, with music blaring from a large speaker mounted on his motorcycle, people applauded and he joyfully moved to the next stall to dance again. We also saw a group of dancers performing a flash mob on the streets. Everything seemed to be spontaneous, and the streets were always vibrant and full of activity. Moments like these made our days in Dubai truly special.

With all that said, Dubai proved to be truly mesmerizing, and GITEX was an incredibly fun and informative experience like none other. After spending five days there, our hearts were filled with happiness and satisfaction. Sciflare returned to India having met hundreds of clients and tech leaders, strengthening connections and forging new relationships. I wanted to share my personal perspective and experiences, and I hope I did it justice. So, Habibi, that was my first Dubai and GITEX experience.
